We can offer both Swedish and European steel to manufacture wide band saws in a range from 60mm to 360mm wide with the blades tensioned to your specifications. Your band saws can be supplied ready to run or just toothed and joined. The teeth can be set straight or in a vari-pitch format. The cutting teeth can be Swaged and Shaped, or Stellite Tipped for a more durable and longer lasting cutting edge. All these processes are performed in house to ensure we can offer our customers the best possible quality.
Our modern press lines produce toothed steel to exacting tolerances while we can punch in a variety of different tooth shapes to match customer requirements. We Butt Weld all our band saws to ensure inclusion free joining and tempering within a very small heat zone.
Our twin plasma-arc manufacturing lines provide high quality Stellite tipping, whilst hydraulic swaging is used for non-tipped blades. Our fully automatic hydraulic tensioning machinery is programmable to meet every blade application, whilst final tooth and side grinding is undertaken on one of our many Vollmer wet grinding machines, including state of the art CNC CA300 Camless grinders, capable of grinding over 60 different tooth shapes, including a whole range of Vari-pitch formats.
For extra tip hardness for improved length of service, for cutting frozen timber or for extra smooth finish on softwoods our sophisticated Plasma-arc Stellite tipping machinery will fuse a deposit of hard metal to Rockwell 44C, and correctly anneal it by induction loop heating. The teeth are then precision ground on water cooled equipment to give accurate and razor sharp teeth.
We are also able to offer improved speed of cut and a decrease in blade resonance noise with the use of a varying pitch formatted teeth, with our unique CNC Production Centre. We can now create different pitch formats to meet your unique requirements.
EPS offer Serrated Cutter Blanks: for those who do their own profiling or we can provide our own profiling service. HSS 6% (high speed steel) and is recommended for short runs while HSS 18% is recommended for longer production runs. All cutters are 8mm thick to suit all serrated safety blocks.
EPS stock planer knives without slots, in bar lengths, and will cut to size as requested.
The wood cutting knives are available from EPS include: peeling knives, slicing knives, pressure bar and chipper knives are all available up to 5m in length.
We offer a complete refurbishment service for inserted tooth saws. We hold a large stock of inserted teeth and tooth holders that can be installed by fully qualified staff with over 100 years of experience. Or we can dispatch teeth directly to you, overnight if required.
For the logging industry we supply and service a full range of plate saws with sizes ranging from 350mm to 960mm.
To support the steel industry we have a full range of HSS saws and shear blades with the technology to grind any blade up to 4.5 meters in length. We can also offer M42/bi-metal narrow band saws in variable pitch or straight tooth format. We can also offer a sharpening service for Rotabroach Cutters and Endmills
